Everything started with Veronika Pfistershammer - she was an artist, a flower lover and a Montessori teacher. Surfbreak was her home and school from 1990 until her all too soon passing in 2014. It was then when her son Julius took over and turned this magical place into a hostel with great vibes. Julius - like his mom - also loved plants and fostered the beautiful gardens we now have at Surfbreak Cabarete. Julius passed away in 2018. Julius's son, Romario - who had since moved to Canada to pursue his passions wanted to find the right owners for Surfbreak to continue his Grandmother and his fathers dream. It was during July, 2022 when we shook hands with Romario and promised we would continue with his family legacy with love and passion.
