Working for Surfbreak was an amazing experience to meet so many great people from all around the world. I had a lot of time to practice surfing and other water sports that are walking distance from the hotel. The owners are really nice and kind people and they are willing to help with anything.

My time at Surfbreak has been absolutely incredible! The hotel has such an inviting and laid-back vibe—it’s a true surfer’s paradise. The accommodations are everything I could have hoped for: private, super clean, and so peaceful. It’s the perfect spot to crash after a long, sunny day at the beach.

What really stands out in Surfbreak is the sense of community here. I’ve met so many amazing people from all over the world, each with their own cool stories and passions. Sharing those moments over a breakfast of eggs, fresh tropical fruit, and coffee has been one of my favorite parts of each day.

The location couldn’t be better. A quick 7-minute walk brings you from Surfbreak to one of the best beaches I’ve ever surfed. There’s also amazing snorkeling and spots for windsurfing, kiting, and winging nearby. And if you’re up for a little adventure, a short guagua ride gets you to downtown Cabarete where I have found some fantastic restaurants, bars and places to dance.

The team at Surfbreak is just wonderful—so kind, supportive, and inviting. The shifts are short and simple, and the staff trains you on exactly what to do. And the food? Let’s just say the Argentinian BBQs blew my mind. I’ve had dreams of the choripán!

Living and working here has felt like traveling without ever leaving. I’ve had plenty of free time to explore and soak in everything the area has to offer, and practicing my Spanish while chatting with guests has been such a bonus. I’m going to miss this little beachy, botanical slice of paradise!

The months I spent living and working at Surfbreak didn’t feel like work at all!
There are so many highlights, and I 100% recommend this experience for anyone.

The place is amazing, with everything you could possibly need. The staff and the owners of the hotel are super friendly, fun, and always available to help.

The breakfast is something you can only truly enjoy in the Caribbean, with spectacular mangoes, papayas and avocados, and don’t forget the freshly cut coconut water with lime.

The beach is just a few minutes’ walk away, and Surfbreak will feel like your home just steps from the ocean. The shifts allow you plenty of time to enjoy a swim in the sea or try any of the sports Cabarete has to offer.

It was an excellent experience, and I will always be grateful to Surfbreak and its people for such a wonderful stay.

Volunteering at Surfbreak has been great. Working with amazing people in a beautiful place just a few minutes from incredible beaches. Offers the chance of surfing, kiting, getting to enjoy nature, music, food, meet amazing people and many other things this beautiful place has to offer.

The work is fun and hours are balanced with other volunteers. The people that work in the hotel are amazing and always there to give you a hand if you need it. 100% recommend.
